FACTS:
Did you know about 119 billion pounds of food is thrown away every year in the United States?
Meanwhile, about 20,000 children go to bed hungry every night in Merced County.
Edible and nutritious food could’ve been saved from going to our trash and given to families who may go to sleep hungry at night.
It is up to us, our communities, to come together and build a food recovery system that ensures our families have access to healthy and nutritious food.

Our community-driven mission is to give all surplus food in Merced County to people in need as fast as possible instead of going to the landfill.

Images from food recovery trips that prevented nutritious food from going to the trash, redirecting it to feed young children through our Merced County Child Care Providers partnership.
